Find the Right Holster, Learn to Use It Safely

Drawing from a holster is a skill that has to be built with care, and speed is worthless without safety and accuracy behind it. In this two-hour live-fire class at the Livermore Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club, you'll work directly with our instructor to build a draw that is safe, smooth, and repeatable, then put it to work on the firing line. The class costs $250 per person, and each class day offers two separate sessions, one from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and one from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, so you can pick the time that fits your schedule. Sessions are limited to six participants so everyone gets real one-on-one time with the instructor rather than watching from across the room. Please bring your own eye and ear protection, though you can rent it from the range if you don't have any, and plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time.

What You'll Learn

This is a live-fire class focused on one skill: drawing from your holster safely and accurately. You'll start with the fundamentals of a safe draw, including proper grip, clearing the holster, and presenting the firearm on target, and you'll practice each step under the direct guidance of our instructor. From there you'll move to live fire, where you'll put those fundamentals to work and build the smooth, repeatable draw that makes accurate shooting possible.

Along the way, our instructor will point out the habits that lead to trouble, such as a rushed or inconsistent draw, poor grip on the way out of the holster, and lapses in muzzle discipline and trigger finger control. By the end of the class you'll have a safer, more consistent draw and a clear idea of what to keep practicing.

Cancellations made at least 48 hours before your scheduled class will receive a full refund with no questions asked. Cancellations made inside that 48 hour window will receive 50% store credit that can be put toward a future class. No shows are not eligible for a refund or credit of any kind. If your plans change, you're always welcome to transfer your registration to a different date, time, or even another person, and there's no deadline for making that kind of transfer as long as it happens before your original class begins.
